The third edition of the
Tibet Film Festival,based in London, kicks off July 1 with theinternational premiere of Road to Peace,including a Q&A with director Leon Stuparich andthe Dalai Lama?s UK representative, Thubten Samdub.
The festival will take place in London throughoutJuly - the month of the Dalai Lama?s 75thbirthday - before going on tour from August.
The programme also takes in the UK premiere ofDirk Simon?s When the Dragon Swallowed the Sunand a performance by soundtrack contributorDamien Rice. Offshoot events include aperformance by poet John Hegley, a music eventand a photography exhibition looking at theissues of climate change and water on the
Tibetan Plateau.
The festival is a non-profit initiative and thisyear supports the
Tibet House Trust and reliefefforts towards the recent earthquake in Kyegudo,in the Kham region of eastern Tibet.
